Limbo Dev Says Next Game Will Be More Bizarre
Limbo developer Playdead had a few words to say about its upcoming game. Speaking to Eurogamer, Playdead co-founder Dino Patti mentioned that the company's super secret game, currently being referred to as "project two," was "more weird" than Limbo. Given how eerie and chilling Limbo was, it's really interesting to know that whatever Playdead may be working on now is going to be even stranger.
"I think it looks crazy good," said Patti. "I'm really proud of it already. I know the art is not fully there yet, but for me it's the perfect project two for our company, because it's similar in so many ways, but so different. The next project is more crazy than Limbo, if you say that's crazy. It's more weird in many ways."
In addition to being crazier than Limbo, it seems that "project two" will also be a great departure from its predecessor. Unlike Limbo's haunting black-and-white aesthetic, the upcoming game will feature full color. How Playdead uses that color to create an enthralling environment should prove interesting. Patti also confirmed that the game would be "more 3D than you would think."
Currently, Playdead still hasn't decided on a name for the game, and the company refuses to reveal much info on it until it approaches its launch period. Patti stated that he would like to release the game on multiple platforms right from the get-go, but that all depends on several different circumstances. Playdead's upcoming project certainly has me intriguied, and I can't wait to learn more about it. Chances are if you played Limbo, you're in the same boat as I am.
