An Audio Interview with Chris Parry, Associate Producer on Skate 3

Last week I had the privilege of sitting down with Chris “Cuz” Parry, an associate producer on the Skate 3 franchise, at the EA headquarters (a.k.a. Visceral Games) in Redwood Shores, California to speak about his job at Electronic Arts.

Among the many things spoken about, Parry discusses how dedicated EA is to supporting EA Black Box, the studio behind the skateboarding franchise, the merger between EA Black Box and EA Canada in Vancouver, BC Canada, and the facilities that EA provides for the developers to help them remain blissful.

“For us, we’ve been really lucky in that the company [EA] has been really supportive of what we have done.”

“We work at Black Box, which is a studio. One of the studios at EA up in Vancouver [BC Canada] and recently we made a move from downtown, as we had offices downtown, and we moved back to the EA campus in Burnaby EAC [EA Canada].”

“The amount of effort that they’ve put into making the facilities that you work at accommodating and giving you what you need… there’s a strong effort to make those long hours fun. At least give you something to do and keep you healthy and happy.”
