Latest Halo 5 audio log uncovers some bad records

343 Industries releases latest episode in Halo 5's teaser series

Benjamin Giraud's investigation into the origins of Master Chief continued last night with the release of a new entry in his digital log. Serving as part docu-diary, part audio archive, the latest entry continues to uncover the mystery of John, aka Master Chief.

An obscure record from the far reaches of the galaxy contradicts everything. Government officials and conspiracy theorists weigh in. Stories of a remarkable young man are once again torn down by conflicting accounts.

Episode 02: BAD RECORDS is actually the third audio log in this investigative series. For Giraud's full report, check out the teaser site "Hunt the Truth" which not only provides his past episodes, but some intriguing images as well.

Giraud's hunt for the truth is part of a lengthy marketing program on behalf of Microsoft and developer 343 Industries that will lead up to Microsoft's E3 press conference where I presume more about Halo 5: Guardians will be revealed. The audio series is tied into something regarding Master Chief supposedly being a traitor, or not a traitor — I don't really know, but it's super interesting.

For those of you intrigued with the Halo franchise, I highly recommend you give each audio log a listen. They are about 12 minutes in length and provide some really interesting backstory.

Last week we learned that Halo 5: Guardians will be released on October 27, 2015.
