L.A. Noire to Come on Three Discs on 360

L.A. Noire is right around the corner, but there's still interesting news regarding its release. Kotaku has revealed that the game will be arriving on three discs on 360 or a 25GB Blu-Ray disc on PS3.

"L.A. Noire was always going to be a massive game, from the size and detail of the world to the length of the cases, and of course, the sheer amount of MotionScan data required for the faces of over 400 actors in-game," said Rockstar's Jeronimo Barrera. Even with the MotionScan data hogging most of the disc space, that doesn't mean the game will be three times as long as typical Rockstar games.

The disc swaps won't be huge pain, thankfully. Rockstar says they'll occur naturally between missions in the game, meaning you'll only have to swap twice within the span of one play-through. It may be more of a pain if you install the game, though, since L.A. Noire requires three separate installations.

Rockstar says they had to cut cases from the game because of space constraints. These removed episodes will appear as DLC instead.
