Well, Major Nelson said July's Games with Gold would be announced "soon" -- I just didn't realize how soon. Over on Xbox Wire, Microsoft posted next month's free games for Xbox LIVE Gold members. So what can we look forward to next month?

Xbox One

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition

Guacamelee

Normally $14.99, Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition is a brawler/platformer brought to Xbox One via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program. In the game, ou play Juan Aguacate, a masked Mexican wrestler on a quest to save the President’s daughter from the evil, skeletal Carlos Calaca

Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition will replace June's Xbox One Games with Gold title, Halo: Spartan Assault. So make sure you snag it before July 2.

Xbox 360

Gotham City Imposters

Gotham City Imposters

One of two free Xbox 360 games next month, Gotham City Imposters is a multiplayer, first-person shooter based on DC Comics' Batman universe. Two teams of six players will face off against each other using a variety of Batman- and Joker-themed weapons in pretty entertaining deathmatches.

Gotham City Imposters will be available for free for Xbox LIVE Gold members from July 1 through July 15.

BattleBlock Theater

BattleBlock Theater

In the latter half of July, Xbox 360 owners will get BattleBlock Theater. Playable in single player or as co-op, you'll free your friends and save Hatty Hattington by jumping, solving and battling your way through a mysterious theater inhabited by highly technological felines.

That's all folks. While I don't think the games live up to what was offered in June, it's still a nice selection. And hey, it's free. Free is always good in my opinion.

As for how Games with Gold stacks up against PlayStation Plus next month, well, decide for yourself.
