Remember Jett Rocket? If so, then it's likely that you remember how much fun the WiiWare title was and how cool its throwback 3D platforming gameplay was. Developer Shin'en Multimedia is currently working on the next Jett Rocket game, and it looks pretty damn neat.

Jet Rocket 2: The Wrath of Taikai is scheduled to launch on the 3DS eShop, and as indicated by its title, this is more than just a handheld port of the WiiWare original. According to Shin'en, the game will offer full stereoscopic 3D gameplay that runs at 60 frames per second.

While the original game was a 3D platformer that harkened back to classic Nintendo 64 titles like Banjo-Kazooie, Jett Rocket 2 seems to mix things up with both 2D and 3D elements. Check out some screens in our gallery to catch a glimpse of the action. The game looks quite nice!
