Jak and Daxter Collection Confirmed

The German USK rating board revealed that a Jak and Daxter compilation was in the works. Of course, Sony had yet to confirm anything, so it wasn't offical ... until today. In a statement to Game Informer, the PlayStation 3 manufacturer stated that Jak and Daxter Collection was indeed a thing.

Unfortunately, all we know about the compilation thus far is that it exists. No word yet on a release date, though we can probably expect it to launch sometime in 2012.

Jak and Daxter has been one of Sony's critically acclaimed franchises since its debut, so the decision to release the PlayStation 2 titles with HD visuals on its current console is definitely a smart move on the part of Sony. Plus there's bound to be Trophy support, and we all love Trophies.

I've never actually played a Jak and Daxter game (I know!), so I'm really looking forward to this collection. I've been meaning to play these titles, I just haven't gotten around to it. Glad to see them getting released for the PlayStation 3.
