CODEMASTERS TO UNVEIL UNPRECENDENTED LINE UP OF CONSOLE AND PC GAMES AT E3
Featuring American Idol; successors to
famed franchises Operation Flashpoint and Colin McRae Rally;
and the new world of Dragon Empires
New York, April 16, 2003
– Become a pop sensation in American Idol; discover how esteemed brands
Operation Flashpoint and Colin McRae Rally will
climb to new heights; and experience the visually stunning new world of
Dragon Empires -- as Codemasters reveals its stellar line up of
new titles debuting at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3),
May 14-16th at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
With a blockbuster line up of console and PC games at its E3 booth (#746 in the
South Hall), Codemasters’ makes its most significant industry statement
to date with a larger show floor presence, and more game announcements,
unveilings and surprises than ever before.
American Idol is destined to be the mass-market game of the year
for PlayStation 2 and PC. The game will be exclusively showcased on a
special-themed stage in the booth. Codemasters will challenge E3
attendees to see how well they can perform as virtual American Idol
singers as they control the in-game voice of a contestant through music-based
rhythm-action gameplay. Every in-game performance is evaluated by
computer-generated judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. There
may even be some very familiar Idols faces showing up at Codemasters’ E3
booth, too.
Codemasters will also take its power-brand games up another level with
new titles from the Colin McRae Rally and Operation
Flashpoint franchises.
Premiering exclusively at E3 is Codemasters’ Battlefield Command,
the intense World War II tactical RTS for PC. Also playable at the show will be
the latest preview builds of the mighty MMORPG Dragon Empires for
PC, complete with its stunning new landscape engine, and Operation
Flashpoint on Xbox.
“It’s going to be an extremely exciting and valuable E3 for Codemasters,”
said Mike Hayes, Codemasters’ Group Marketing Director. “We’re premiering
new titles for some of the biggest game franchises, introducing groundbreaking
original games and promise some show-stopping surprises over the three days.”
E3 will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from May 14-16th and
Codemasters booth will be #746 in the South Hall.
