Is the Wii U 50 Percent More Powerful Than the PS3?
Though Nintendo unveiled the Wii U at this year's E3 last week, little is known about the console's hardware specs. After all, the Big N did showcase demo footage of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 games. While the trailer with the flying bird and the Zelda mock-up were impressive, it's hard to tell what kind of power this hardware is pumping.
Arvind Bhatia, analyst at Sterne Agree, said that the Wii U may be more powerful than the PlayStation 3. How much is "more powerful?" According to Bhatia, about 50 percent.
This rather large figure has been confirmed by developers currently working with the machine. "Some of the developers we spoke to indicated to us that the console will have 50 percent more processing power compared to the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360," said Bhatia in a statement to Industry Gamers. "This is yet to be confirmed by Nintendo."
This wouldn't be the first time a developer credited the higher power of the Wii U over both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Darksiders II dev Vigil Games said that the Wii U would likely be home to the best version of their game due to its hardware, which they described as "more powerful."
I can't wait to learn more about the Wii U straight from Nintendo.
