Is Nintendo Crazy?
The Australian EB Games website has listed the Wii U at $598. That's a fair notch above $600 in American money for those of you who may be unaware of the currency differences. So I have to ask: is Nintendo freaking crazy?
Judging from what I've been hearing, maybe a little--but only when it comes to Australia. You see, the folks living in the land down under tend to get screwed when it comes to video games. Sometimes blood and nudity get removed from their versions of games. Other times, titles are banned. But most of the time Australians get charged way too much for video game products.
Don't believe me? Just look at the prices of other games on the website. $108 for Assassin's Creed: Revelations? That's ridiculous! Even more ridiculous is how Duke Nukem Forever costs the same amount, and we all know how that game turned out.
So is Nintendo crazy? Who's to say? Right now the Wii U is sporting a $598 price tag in Australia, but that doesn't mean the console is going to cost that much in Japan, North America, the UK, and other parts of the world that are big into gaming. We'll have to wait and see. And for those of you who were planning on moving to Australia, are you reconsidering?
