Iron Banner arriving after Destiny’s November update

With improved rewards

Bungie has announced that the Iron Banner will, indeed, return today once Destiny's November update rolls out, presumably this afternoon.

As a reminder, the update packs a number of improvements to Destiny's PvP, including adjustments to the Iron Banner itself and the rewards you'll receive from it. Following what was arguably the worst Iron Banner yet, the November update will bring some much needed changes to the special mode, including a complete overhaul in the reward system.  Iron Banner reputation from winning matches has been increased, as has activity completion rewards at all ranks. Check out the detailed reward changes below:

  • Iron Banner reputation from winning matches increased by 20%
  • Activity completion rewards increased at all ranks, with even more significant increases at Rank 2 and above
  • Packages from Lord Saladin upon reaching Rank 3 and Rank 5
  • Iron Banner Artifacts can be obtained from the Rank 3 package
  • Iron Banner Ghost Shells can be obtained from the Rank 5 package or activity completion rewards

One of the biggest complaitns with the Iron Banner, and all of the Crucible for that matter, has been the lackluster rewards. Bungie recently admitted this was due to a "nasty bug" that they only recently discovered. Today's update should address that, along with the changes above.
