iCade 8-Bitty controller for iPhone, Android is awesome, retro

It's strange to think that some cool gaming news has come out of the 2012 Toy Fair in New York, but that's exactly what has happened, folks. Yesterday we learned that Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing was getting a sequel, and now, there's a scoop for mobile gamers. A new iCade controller was revealed by ThinkGeek.

The iCade 8-Bitty is a wireless NES-style controller for iPhone and Android devices. It features a D-pad, four face buttons, shoulder buttons, and two more buttons right at the front that look like the NES controller's Start and Select buttons. It also has a nice retro color scheme.

Already there's a list of games that are compatible with the 8-Bitty including Pac-Man and Super Mega Worm. Hopefully more developers make titles that are functional with the controller, because it really is pretty darn neat. Seriously, it's a retro gaming iPhone or Android owner's wet dream.

The 8-Bitty is due out later this year. It will run on batteries and connect to your iPhone or Android devices wirelessly. ThinkGeek has confirmed that the controller will be priced at $24.99. If more devs make their games compatible with this lovely peripheral, the price will be well worth it.
