Humble Gaming today announced the
launches of iPhone/iPod game EdiMon, starring the lovable, colorful pet EdiMon
who lives inside – yes, inside – your Apple device. It’s time to find your
virtual pet a new home!
Two family-friendly titles under the
EdiMon brand (EdiMon+ at $1.99 announced last month, and EdiMon full version at
$3.99) are available now on the AppStore.
Just released EdiMon – a tribute to
the digital pet Tamagotchi™ from the late 1990s – is a fun, fast-paced game that
requires lightning-fast fingers to gain points in each of four mini-games:
Fitness (a weight lifting game), Wellness (a meditation game), Playtime (a
guessing game), each of which has five levels of difficulty, and Hygiene (a task
traditionally appearing in virtual pet games). As you play each mini-game, your
pets’ emotions and “looks” will change based on how successfully you play – and
how fast you play!
Your biggest challenge is to ensure
EdiMon grows into a healthy, happy pet by reaching a “real life” balance of
physical, mental, and emotional attributes. But watch out! If your gameplay
upsets this balance, EdiMon will suddenly change mood and attitude which you
must adjust right away! Your pet will show pity, anger, happiness, and pleasure
– you’ll know exactly how EdiMon feels as you play the game. Remember to keep
your virtual pet healthy and happy!

Details About the Mini-games
In the Fitness game, you must
provide weight-lifting energy to the EdiMon character by quickly tapping two
buttons of the same color simultaneously, among a field of many buttons. The
faster you tap, the more energy your pet has!
The Wellness game lets you use the
built-in accelerometer to tilt your Apple device in all four directions to
prevent EdiMon from falling over and breaking a meditative state – it’s fun to
watch and even more fun trying to keep EdiMon upright! Birds and insects are
flying around just annoy your pet and break the mood, but you can solve that
problem in an instant. Just tap them – they disappear and you score more points!
In the Playtime game, you need to
figure out what EdiMon is thinking. When an object appears inside the thought
bubble above EdiMon’s head, you need to identify which one of the other
on-screen object it matches, and tap it. But wait! There’s something we forgot
to tell you…the objects outside the bubble aren’t exactly a match with that
EdiMon is thinking about – objects are reversed, shaded, backward, upside down,
or…well, you figure it out!
The Hygiene task helps keep your pet
clean. When your pet’s hygiene is “low,” there are flies buzzing around and
landing on your pet. Once your pet takes a shower, the buzzing flies are
replaced with shining stars and you pet is once again happy!
