Heroes of Newerth’s season 3 boasts a $70,000 prize pool

Starting on July 26th, Heroes of Newerth will embark on its largest eSports event to date. Season 3 will encompass seven months of pure carnage upon the amateur and pro scene. As of now, the prize pool is sitting pretty at $70,000 with the chance to continue growing. The final showdown will go down in March when the top teams bout it out to see who the best is. Along this journey, HoN is excited to announce a new eSports community called Plinko.

"Heroes of Newerth´s eSports following is hungry for competition and we´re going to give it to them," said Sam Braithwaite, Head of Marketing for Heroes of Newerth. "If you think about it - eSports Plinko runs for HoN Tour´s entire seven month life meaning that, with the tournament´s baseline prize pool and community contributions, there´s a huge opportunity for competitors to rack up some serious winnings."

Other news of interest, they are reducing the number of teams in Diamond, Gold, and Silver Divisions brackets: 16, 32, and 64 to 8, 16, and 32.

"This year´s format is designed to retroactively raise the stakes for each of the teams in the top three divisions," Sam said. "Upping the ante helps HoN stay true to its take-no-prisoners persona."

Loooots of changes coming up, can you keep up? HoN running rampage.
