Has Fumito Ueda Left Sony?

It is being rumored that Fumito Ueda, creator of The Last Guardian, has left Sony. According to Eurogamer, the former Sony employee will be carrying out the development of The Last Guardian a la freelance. Currently, Sony has yet to respond to these claims, so nothing is completely certain yet.

The Last Guardian has been delayed a few times, and it's even missed appearing at several key gaming events such as the Tokyo Game Show. According to previous reports, Team Ico has been under pressure to develop the game. This has resulted in frustration within the studio.

I really hope this doesn't result in the cancelation of The Last Guardian. The game seems like yet another incredible journey, and for it to be canceled would be a big disappointment. Let's hope Ueda's supposed departure doesn't affect the game to that degree.

Following the development of The Last Guardian, it is being speculated that Ueda will work on his own projects. This will likely spell the end of the relationship between the Team Ico head and Sony. We'll be sure to keep you posted as we learn more about these rumors.
