Guiness World Record for Most Bullet Hell Shooters Goes to Cave

Cave is known for putting out a lot of “bullet hell” shooters – 2D shoot 'em ups that focus more on dodging hundreds of bullets than shooting. They're responsible for series like Do Don Pachi, Espgaluda, Guwange, and Deathsmiles. But did you know that they've released more bullet hell shooters than any other company? Or did you know that it was enough to get them a spot in the Guinness World Records?

The company's 48 “danmaku” or “bullet curtain” shooters have been recognized by Guinness, honoring Cave with the world record for “most prolific developer of danmaku shooters”. Of course, it seems like Guinness is just giving out records for the sake of giving out records at this point, but 48 games is a whole lot, and a lot of them are classics of the genre, so good on Cave.
