GTA 5 title update 1.09 cracks down on cheaters, fixes RP & unlimited money glitches
It's getting harder and harder for players to find new ways to make illegitimate money in Grand Theft Auto 5's online mode, GTA Online. Before we continue, am I the only one perplexed that a game which encourages you to earn money through illegitimate actions (ie. robbing banks) is looking to prevent players from getting in-game cash through illegitimate ways (ie. exploits)?
Regardless, it seems developer Rockstar Games is looking to crackdown on cheaters with the latest update improving "anti-cheat" measures while fixing several GTA$ and RP exploits. This has been an ongoing battle for Rockstar since the launch of GTA Online. Users frustrated by the low payouts of jobs and high costs of goods in the online mode have resorted to glitches and exploits as a quick way to earn cash.
An update in December (version 1.08) attempted to ease the strain on players' wallets by increasing cash payouts for losing teams in Last Team standing and Team Deathmatch, as well as increasing the cash and RP rewards for Races with multiple laps. A slew of new jobs, including Capture Mode, were also introduced.
Looking ahead, Rockstar still has plenty of ideas left for GTA Online and I can pretty much guarantee that none of them involve allowing players to glitch the system. The restrictions will only get tighter from here, folks.
