Gradius and other games hit the 3DS eShop

The classic side-scrolling shooter Gradius is coming to the 3DS today as a downloadable.

Konami published Gradius in 1985 for arcades and later ported it to a number of home platforms. It was the first game to use the Konami Code. The arcade version is playable in the Gradius Collection for PlayStation Portable and the Konami Classics Series: Arcade Hits for Nintendo DS, among others.

The game accompanies other digital rereleases today — The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Mario Kart 7, Star Fox 64 3D, and Super Mario 3D Land, according to Business Wire. Sparkle Snapshots 3D is new to the eShop, and Style Savvy: Trendsetters lands on October 22.

Moshi Monsters Moshlings Theme Park, Puzzler World XL, and a Halloween-themed Nintendo Video called "Dinosaur Office: Halloween Spooktacular" (available October 24) are also available for 3DS owners.

Slated for the 3DS eShop next week is the original Ghosts 'n Goblins from Capcom.
