Gears of War: Judgment 'Premiere Event' scheduled for Sunday March 3

Gears of War: Judgment is only three weeks from launch, which is concerning to a number of fans because of the lack of press surrounding such a coveted franchise. To be fair, EPIC Games did lose their “rockstar,” always outspoken designer, Cliff Bleszinski and the charming Rod ‘Gears Viking’ Fergusson, who left to join the Irrational Games team that’s also gearing up to release a blockbuster, BioShock Infinite. Nevertheless, this Sunday fans will be able to take part in a world premier of Gears of War: Judgment, via Xbox LIVE, that should give gamers a solid, in-depth look at what EPIC’s been up to since the launch of Gears of War 3 back in 2011.

Larry Hyrb, Xbox LIVE’s Major Nelson, announced the event on his blog today, which is set to air on Xbox LIVE Sunday March 3 at 8pm EST/5pm PST. According to Hyrb, “Developers from Epic Games will be on hand to debut brand new, never-before-seen reveals including Aftermath and Survival Mode.” In addition, fans will be able take part in the event by voting for what “gameplay you want to see,” along with developer Q&A’s via Twitter with the hashtag, “#GearsJudgment”.

Fans can also enter in to win a custom Gears of War: Judgment Xbox 360 console, as well as early copies of the game. More details on that can be found below:

PLUS, we’re giving away* a custom Gears of War: Judgment Xbox 360 console as well copies of the game*

Selected winners will be announced live during the broadcast.

The live stream will be available in the US and Canada, for other select markets where the event is not broadcast, a video on-demand version will be available shortly after the event.

·      For more information, and to learn how to participate in the sweeps, follow @Xbox on Twitter.
No purchase necessary. Open to residents of the 50 US (+DC) 18+. Ends 3/3/13. Rules here (FB LInk)

There’s no word if EPIC will be showcasing Judgment’s single player during the broadcast, but our best assumption is that it’ll be entirely multiplayer focused, though we expect the developers to touch on a number of single player aspects, including weapons and characters. Nevertheless, be sure to tune into the event on Sunday, and GameZone’s coverage to follow as we analyze the entire stream.
