Former Activision Employees Create New Development Studio
Former employees of Activision's Vicarious Visions branch have formed a new development studio called Play Eternal. Based in Philadelphia, the studio is being managed by Albert Vasquez, Brandon Van Slyke, Louis Tranchitella, and Michael Worth. Vasquez and Van Slyke gained prominence after working on Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, a game that garnered highly favorable reviews from critics and fans alike. Van Slyke discussed the new company's staff and the projects they plan to complete: "The talent we've been able to attract is perfectly aligned to develop highly polished and engaging games for digital distribution to the core audience."
The team over at Play Eternal has experience with several companies such as Blue Fang, Gearbox, Obsidian, and Nickelodeon. According to Tranchitella, the developers are currently working on their first game, which will utilize Trinity's Vision Game Engine. "Vision's multi-platform optimizations, numerous third-party integrations, and outstanding support are enabling us to create a high-quality game that easily distributes to multiple game platforms."
It's going to be interesting to see what direction Play Eternal takes with their first endeavor as a company. As of this writing, no further details have been released regarding the game in progress.
