For Honor January closed beta dates confirmed for Xbox One, PS4
Cutting it kind of close there
Ubisoft announced that the For Honor closed beta will launch later this month, shortly ahead of its release. The beta will run for four days from January 26th-29th on both PS4 and Xbox One as well as PC
Coinciding with the closed beta, Ubisoft is launching War of the Factions, a limited-time event which will help answer the question: When the mighty Vikings, deadly Samurai, and bold Knights finally collide on the battlefield, who will reign supreme? War of the Factions will track all multiplayer activities across all platforms from all players during the closed beta and will reward players for fighting for their factions and honor the winning faction with additional rewards. In addition to the War of the Faction rewards, players who participate in the closed beta will also receive rewards. Both sets of rewards will be transferred to the full game when it releases in February.
Ubisoft is cutting it kind of close here. A beta ending only two weeks ahead of launch doesn't give much time for making any improvements the beta is intended for. For Honor has a unique, intuitive battle system that seemingly has solved the issues plaguing sword fighting games. Previously released betas and alphas have so far revealed solid gameplay and mechanics.
The campaign centers around Apollyon, a female warlord that is destined to keep the game's three factions of Vikings, Samurai, and Knights at war with each other for eternity. Warriors must band together and stop her to restore balance to their existence.
For Honor releases on PC as well as Xbox One and PS4 on Valentine's Day, February 14th.
