For Honor is finally getting dedicated servers
Better late than never.
For Honor has had one of the more controversial existences among what has been a pretty solid release calendar. After a very promising reveal back at E3 2015, the wheels gradually began to come off when it was reported that the game wouldn't have dedicated servers, and continued post launch with the dreaded microtransactions controversy and ongoing connectivity issues.
Fortunately, things might be changing for the better on the connectivity front as Ubisoft announced in an official press release that they are working on bringing dedicated servers to For Honor. On top of that, the company says that "enhancing peer-to-peer stability and matchmaking remain priorities for the team."
Also included in the press release were mentions of the additions of a new 4v4 PvP mode, ranked 4v4 matches, a new training mode, two new seasons, and global balancing updates. Obviously, the big news here is the addition of dedicated servers, something For Honor had sorely needed from the very beginning.
For Honor is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
