First Portal 2 DLC Will Be Free
We recently reported that Portal 2 would receive its first DLC later this year. According to Valve, gamers could expect the new content to hit Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this summer, though they didn't give specifics about the price point. Today, the developer announced the set price for the DLC pack, and gamers will be pleasantly surprised to learn the price the generous folks over at Valve have chosen for the content.
Valve revealed earlier today that the first Portal 2 DLC would be free of charge. While PC gamers may expect this sort of thing from the developer, gamers playing Portal 2 on their Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles will also get the new content absolutely free. This is not only great news for Portal 2 owners, but also sure to pique the interest of gamers who have yet to purchase the title.
One of the main concerns regarding the first wave of DLC for Portal 2 was whether it would be character skins or an actual set of brand new playable levels. With the content now being announced as free, gamers might think they'll only be getting some alternate costumes. Luckily, Valve stated that the new DLC would feature "new test chambers for players, leaderborads, challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, and more."
Valve has yet to announce a definite release date for the first Portal 2 DLC. Luckily, we at least know it'll be released this summer. So, who else is excited?
