Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Detailed, New Gameplay Mode Hinted

Run around on foot like never before, but keeping that tactical goodness.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is a remake of the Japanese-only Fire Emblem Gaiden and will be the first time it's been outside of Japan. It was shown during the latest Nintendo Direct.

Nintendo announced that Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will have DLC. Some will be free, while some are purchasable. The DLC is all extra content not available in the original game. So not only is the old game completely rebuilt in a new engine with entirely new features but there is even more story than before. There will also be a season pass that includes all the DLC in one purchase.

On top of the traditional Fire Emblem tactical screen, heroes are shown running around in a dungeon without explanation. This was not expanded upon, but equipment seemed to be looted, and it did not seem to take the focus off of the tactical screen. It seems as if some missions can be played in a less traditional fashion.

Unfortunately, a release date was not given for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, but GameZone will report it once it's announced.
