Final Fantasy XV is crossing over with Assassin’s Creed for a special event

Did not see that one coming.

Final Fantasy XV's big week of announcements keeps on delivering, and this time it's a cross over that not many (if any) could have predicted. A limited time in-game event called the Assassin's Festival will be overtaking the city of Lestallum starting on August 31st and running until January 31st, 2018. The event will unlock special in-game "Medjay Assassin’s Robes" for Noctis and Co. and feature unique gameplay mechanics from Assassin's Creed.

Here is the event's trailer:

Noctis will also be able to get the "Master Assassin's Robes," but doing so requires players to snag a "Dream Egg" from the Moogle Chocobo Carnival, which on going right now but will only last until late September.

In other Final Fantasy XV news, the game is finally heading to PC, and after fan fears regarding its specs, Square Enix has clarified that the game will be able to scale to about where the standard console version currently sits. Final Fantasy XV will also be getting an episodic mobile version, complete with its own unique art style and battle mechanics. Suffice it to say; it's been a big week for Final Fantasy XV announcements.
