FIFA 12 Has Sold An Estimated 3.2 Million Copies Since Launch

Whether you call it soccer, or football, or fútbol, I think we can all agree one one thing.  It is truly the world's most played and enjoyed sport. At least that's what early estimates of FIFA 12 sales indicate.

Electronic Arts have announced an estimate of how many copies of FIFA 12 have been sold since the game's North American launch on September 27th.  In one week's time, early figures suggest a staggering 3.2 million copies of FIFA 12 have been sold across all platforms, including 879,000 for IOS devices.  That's an estimated increase of 23% over the launch of FIFA 11 last year.

"FIFA 12 is a stunning achievement by our team at EA Canada.  The massive FIFA online community has overwhelmingly connected to the new live services in the game, including EA Sports Football Club, and we intend to keep them engaged all season long as FIFA 12 follows the heartbeat of the football season," said Andrew Wilson, Executive Vice-Present of EA Sports, when talking about FIFA's revamped online mode.

More than 200 million minutes of online games have been played since the game launched in September, indicating soccer hooligans have nothing better to do with their lives.
