EPIC to Ban Players Who Spoil Gears of War 3
Since a playable version of Gears of War 3 blasted its way onto the internet back in July, EPIC Games have promised to track down the source of the leak and reveal new technology to stop folks who try an spoil the upcoming blockbuster. EPIC has fulfilled one of those promises today, introducing new technology that can track down anyone who spoils the game and ban them from playing it upon release.
Speaking with the site Eurogamer , executive producer Rod Fergusson said, "We have a banning system built into our stuff so we can go in and identify certain people. Some people aren't smart about what they do. They'll be disappointed on 20th September when they can't get in and can't play. They may be banned."
Fergusson added, "If you don't value this community, you don't value this experience, then we don't value you. I'd rather pick that one bad apple out of the pool so everybody else can have a better time."
In other Gears 3 news, 3D capability is to be included with the shooter when it releases this September. Fergusson commented on the announcement saying, "It felt like something we wanted to have. It was a feature we didn't want to be deficient in." It is worth noting that the 3D feature will only be available to those with a 3D TV.
