Edmund McMillen Working on New Game
We know that Team Meat is planning something big. What that game may be is still unknown, but the duo says it's going to be impressive. Edmund McMillen seems to be double-dipping, though, as he recently revealed on his blog that he would be working on a new game in addition to his Team Meat endeavor.
The game is called The Binding of Isaac, and McMillen stated that he's been secretly working on it for some time. According to the indie dev, this is the first title he's worked on sans Team Meat since Time Fcuk, one of my personal favorite indie games. Apparently, he's gotten back together with a couple of programmers who helped out in some of his previous titles, such as C*nt and Coil.
To reiterate, this will not be Team Meat's next big game. And according to McMillen, it's "a lot smaller than Super Meat Boy." The game will be a roguelike inspired by McMillen's favorite title of all time.
Release date and platform details are nonexistent at the moment. And aside from the aforementioned info, McMillen posted a single promo image of the game. Indie fans, watch out for The Binding of Isaac, as it is expected to be finished in one month. More details will follow soon.
