EA Has No Plans of Relaunching NBA Street, Def Jam Wrestling

The Guardian recently had an interview with EA Sports' vice-president, Andrew Wilson.  While the majority of the conversation leaned towards the success of FIFA 12 and RPG elements in sports games, one question branched a little off topic.

As most know, EA is launching FIFA Street and SSX early next year.  When asked if there were any plans to bring back other franchises, like Def Jam Wrestling or NBA Street, Wilson responded:

"Not right now. We're always looking at when the right opportunity may happen. We launched NBA Jam at the end of last year and we've launched NBA Jam: On Fire Edition on PSN and Xbox Live this month. Fifa Street is coming back for the first time in three years and SSX is back for the first time in four."

Wilson didn't completely rule out bringing back franchises from EA Sports Big label though.

"We never say never, but it has to be at a time where we have a team that's passionate about the property. What we've found is that passionate teams build great game. If we have that sort of team and we think the time's right to make that sort of product, we'd jump right back in there."

I'm sure EA can find some people that were passionate about NBA Street or Def Jam Wrestling.  Wouldn't you like to see EA bring back some older titles?
