E3 2017: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 announced for release on Nintendo Switch this Holiday season

Nintendo's best JRPG is making a return.

Nintendo had previously revealed that a new Xenoblade was coming to the Nintendo Switch at the console's reveal presentation back in January, but the Nintendo Spotlight stream officially revealed the game as Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The game is actually not a follow-up to the events of the original game that released back in 2012 but will instead be taking the Final Fantasy route of leveraging similar themes and mechanics while telling a different story with different characters.

Here's the game's official description courtesy of the Nintendo YouTube channel.

Explore an endless ocean of clouds, where the last remnants of civilization live on the backs of colossal beasts called Titans. Experience the story of Rex and his new friend, Pyra, a mysterious being known as a Blade who grants him tremendous power. Together, search for Pyra’s long lost home Elysium, the ultimate paradise for all of humanity.
