Dota 2: The International championships dated for August

Dota 2: The International championships

The Dota 2 team has announced the third Dota 2: The International championships will be take place in August. The five-day main event, held at the Benaroya Hall in downtown Seattle, will begin on August 7th.

The first team invited to The International are Invictus Gaming, last year's championship team who is returning to defend its crown. In total, the tournament will consist of 16 teams: twelve more teams which will be announced in the coming days; the winners of the East and West Qualifers; and one final team that will be decided through a Wild Card event. The Wild Card event will be held just before The International begins and will feature the runner-ups of each qualifer.

The West Qualifier will be hosted by GDStudio from May 13-19. The East Qualifier will be hosted by BeyondTheSummit from May 20-26 May. As usual, all mathces will be available for free through DotaTV.
