Did Sony's PULSE unintentionally leak Uncharted 4?
In the February 14th edition of Sony's PlayStation PULSE series, host Christina Lee might have dropped a major announcement, possibly acknowledging the development of Uncharted 4 - the next installment of Naughty Dog's blockbuster series.
In the video, around the 5:40 market, Lee talks about an Uncharted 3 online multiplayer contest, "Training Camp Meets Uncharted 3", where she reveals the winner of the competition will become part of the "next Uncharted game".
In the competition's 2nd challenge, gamers can capture some of their best in-game taunts on video and submit them to YouTube, where Uncharted developers Naughty Dog will select the top 10, which the community will then vote on. As Lee explains, the top two will attend a multiplayer showdown, "where the eventual winner will become the part of the next Uncharted game."
Now, Lee doesn't specifically say Uncharted 4, but given the success of Uncharted 3 it's easy to assume Naughty Dog would continue their work on the series.
With the studio working on the recently announced game, The Last of Us, who knows when production for the next Uncharted game will begin. Of course, there are some who have said Uncharted 3 was developed by only part of the Naughty Dog dev team, with the rest focusing on The Last of Us. So it is quite possible that Naughty Dog could actually be working on Uncharted 4 at this very moment.
It was rumored a while ago that Naughty Dog was hiring for next-gen titles, seeking a character artist who will be "responsible for making million poly models game ready." It was widely assumed that the hiring was for Uncharted 4, possibly on the PlayStation 4. Although, an interview with technical editor Rob Redman, of 3D World, revealed a million poly model isn't a "clear indication" of a PS4 project.
