Deus Ex: Human Revolution Goes Gold

An excited Square-Enix and Eidos-Montreal published a press release today announcing that their upcoming blockbuster, Dues Ex: Human Revolution, has gone "gold."

The prequel to the original Deus Ex was pushed back from March to work on issues, but you can now expect to get your hands on the game on August 23rd (PS3, Xbox 360, PCs, Steam, and OnLive).

Stephane D’Astous, general manager of Eidos-Montreal, revealed this information in the press release saying, "We couldn’t be more excited that Deus Ex: Human Revolution has gone gold and will soon be in the hands of expectant gamers. As the first release for Eidos-Montreal, it’s impossible to express how extremely proud we are of the final product and all of the hard work that went into its creation.”

Going "gold" simply means that the game has completed its coding stage and is now going out to companies' testing groups to make sure the game properly works on all platforms.

Along with the $59.99 standard copy of the game, fans of the series can choose to pick up the $69.99 Agumented Edition. The extra ten dollars will reward you with a bonus disc, featuring a 44-minute making-of documentary, a motion comic based on the DC Comics adaptation of the game, the game soundtrack, trailers and animated storyboards, as well as a 40-page art book with concept art. The Agumented Edition can be seen below:
