Dark Souls, El Shaddai Dated

Two promising titles are on their way to North American retailers, and thankfully, it won't be such a long wait. Namco Bandai and Ignition Entertainment revealed the release dates for Dark Souls and El Shaddai: Ascension of Metatron, respectively. If you were looking forward to either of these titles (or both), you'll be happy to know that you'll have the chance to play them within the coming months.

Dark Souls, developed by From Software, will land on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 4. If you played Demon's Souls on the PlayStation 3, then you probably know what to expect from the sequel: terrifyingly difficult gameplay that will make you curse and shout at your TV screen. Yeah, this game is definitely not going to be for the impatient (or weak).

Then there's El Shaddai, which is set to launch a lot sooner than Dark Souls. You won't have to wait long at all to get your hands on this stylish action-adventure title, because El Shaddai will be available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on July 26. It doesn't seem as if we'll be having too many dry spells for gaming within the coming months. El Shaddai and Dark Souls both look very promising, though the latter obviously has the edge thanks to its successful predecessor. Watch out for the respective releases of these two upcoming games--not too mention all of the potentially awesome titles in between.
