Crytek to Develop the Next Homefront Game

After Homefront failed to deliver a triple-A experience that THQ had originally anticipated, the publisher decided to close Kaos Studios and search for another developer to handle the Homefront series. Today, THQ announced that the search is over and that Crytek will now be heading the Homefront sequel. Danny Bilson, Executive VP of Core Games at THQ, stated in the press release:

"Selecting Crytek to take Homefront forward underscores our strategy of working with the industry's best talent. Homefront's unique setting and storyline captivated gamers the world over. With Crytek's industry leading technology and legendary experience in the FPS genre, we're supremely confident that the next Homefront will deliver that AAA-quality experience that players demand."

The sequel has already been rumored by various publications to be releasing in 2014. What are your thoughts on the transition? Let us know my commenting below.
