Coding on the Rockstar website may have revealed two Red Dead Redemption games

A sequel and a remaster.

Earlier this week the Rockstar website went offline for a short while, anyone familiar with websites knows that when a website goes down for a brief amount of time it's typically to deploy changes and update the site. One tech company employee, that goes by Gaudynights on Reddit, decided that this change would provide the perfect opportunity to snoop around the site's code.

To make a long story short, everything that was found suggested that Red Dead Redemption was getting a remaster and a new game.

Of course, Gaudynights was looking to any hidden announcements that might have been hidden in the page before Rockstar removed it. This netizen navigated to Rockstar's games list to see how they ID their games in the code before they began their snooping.

Each game is tagged with a number ID, in Rockstar's case games in a particular series are numbered chronologically (for the most part). In this games list, you'll find that Red Dead Redemption is "1" and Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare is "111."

Hidden in the code were two more numbers, linked to error pages: "11" and "112." When Gaudyknights followed the two numbers to pages that were assigned to them, there was a 404 page and an error. Because of this, it was extrapolated that "the fact that the error exists means there is code on the games list set up to direct to them when they do exist."

In addition to this, there was an asset folder in the code called "reddeadredemption," but it was empty.

Once Gaudynights refreshed the Rockstar page after snooping, everthing was gone.
