Check out some gameplay footage from The Walking Dead
In a recent developer diary, Telltale Games and The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman discussed the focus of the upcoming episodic series. According to Kirkman, the games are meant to enhance the overall Walking Dead experience. In other words, if you're a fan of the comic books and/or the TV show and you want some more story-driven zombie goodness, you may want to watch out for the games.
"If after all that stuff (comics, TV episodes, lunchboxes), you know, you still want more, I want you to get a fulfilled experience," responded Kirkman when asked what he wanted the fans to take away from the games personally. "When you read the comic or you watch the show, you know, that's a certain kind of experience."
The brilliant creator went on to say that watching the shows or reading the comics allows for a certain level of interaction in that we as the viewers think about what we would do if we were in the shoes of the characters. With the video games, Kirkman believes that there will be a deeper level of interaction because we will be able to make the decisions and interact with the different characters.
I've been watching The Walking Dead and enjoying it completely. Just this past weekend I read the entire first volume of the comic book series, and I instantly fell in love with it. I can honestly say I'm looking forward to the upcoming episodic series of video games. Here's hoping they're all awesome and provide a different look at the lore of The Walking Dead.
To get a glimpse of the game in action, be sure to check out the developer diary. It's all looking pretty interesting, and I can't wait to see more.
