Check out a snippet of Beck’s track ‘Cities’ from Sound Shapes

When it was announced that Beck was contributing three never-before-released songs on the upcoming Sound Shapes, I nearly wet my pants out of sheer joy. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but I'll definitely admit that my shorts nearly melted off. Yup, that's a  thing that almost happened to me.

Hey, don't judge me! I'm a big fan of Beck's music! And I know I'm not the only one who got super stoked about the news. If you're one of the many awesome folks who was excited by the news of Beck's participation in Sound Shapes, prepare to get even more pumped.

Today on the PlayStation Blog, a video showing off one of the stages from the music platformer was showcased, and it featured Beck's "Cities" track. You can hear some bits of the song, which sounds absolutely brilliant. It also looks pretty damn impressive, as the game's artists showed off how they personalized the level to fit with the style of the song. Suffice it to say it's pretty freakin' sweet.

Sound Shapes is due out on the PlayStation Network on August 7. The game will be cross-compatible between the PlayStation 3 and Vita, and it will sport a $14.99 price tag. And don't forget that you can pre-buy the game as part of Sony's PSN Play 2012 promotion. Also, PlayStation Plus members, you're totally getting a discount on the game ($11.99).
