Celebrate tomorrow's launch of Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China with a new trailer
Head to China in the first of the new Assassin's Creed Chronicles
The first chapter of Assassin's Creed Chronicles is set to release tomorrow, April 21. To celebrate, Ubisoft has released a launch trailer for the China chronicle, providing some nice context and backstory.
In 16th-century China, the recently appointed Jiajing Emperor instigated a sudden and ruthless purge of all he felt were a danger to his newly acquired throne, including the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins. A young Assassin, Shao Jun, fled to the West to complete her training under the legendary Assassin Ezio Auditore in the animated short Assassin’s Creed Embers™ and has returned, determined to restore the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins.
In Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China, players pick up Shao Jun’s story as she returns to China hell-bent on revenge. Her story will take players to famous locales including the Maijishan Grottoes, Port of Macau, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall of China. Armed with stealth, agility and a combination of deadly weapons and equipment including a sharp and swift jian, a secret shoe blade, lethal rope darts and daggers, players will deliver payback to those who decimated the Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins.
Assassin's Creed Chronicles is a unique spin-off from Ubisoft's core saga. The games are a 2.5D reimagining of the popular franchise, with each chronicle standing on its own with a unique setting, art style, story, and Assassin. However, they'll all be tied together narratively.
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will be followed by Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India and Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, which will release separately and take players through India in the 19th-century Sikh Empire and then through Russia after the Red October revolution.
Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will be available for $9.99 and will be available for download tomorrow for Assassin’s Creed Unity Season Pass holders. Subsequent chronicles will be available for purchase separately.
