Capcom Planning Four Vita Titles, One Set for System Launch
Capcom is never shy about its interest in consoles and handhelds. If the publisher likes something, they support it with a steady stream of content. The folks over at Capcom are now showing their anticipation for Sony's upcoming PlayStation Vita handheld by promising at least four titles for the device.
"There will be one launch title for Vita," confirmed Capcom Europe boss David Reeves in an interview with MeGamers. "I am not actually sure if it's been mentioned, so I am not going to, but there will be a launch title for the platform. And then we will do Street Fighter vs. Tekken, and at least two others. I am sure you can guess what one of them has to be, considering the success in Japan."
It's evident that Capcom is stoked about developing games for the Vita. The fact that they're supporting the handheld with a launch title speaks volumes about the company's outlook on the device, and it's going to be interesting to see what the other titles that Capcom has planned turn out to be. Given Reeves' "success in Japan" comment, it's obvious Monster Hunter will be one of these four planned Vita titles.
Whatever the other games may be, however, is still up in the air. Will the Vita get its own Resident Evil game early on? Will Mega Man appear in a stylish adventure for the handheld? We'll have to wait to learn more straight from Capcom as the Vita's launch draws near.
