Capcom Mobile to Release Resident Evil: Degeneration in North America and Europe

Capcom Mobile today announced an all new Resident Evil mobile game, dubbed Resident Evil: Degeneration. Based off the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray High-Def CG-animated movie of the same name, Resident Evil: Degeneration allows players to assume the role of Leon Kennedy as he fights his way through an airport overrun with an army of undead.

In the game, players take control of an arsenal of bone-shattering weapons in order to combat a horde of zombies, infected dogs and horrific tyrants through 50 pulse-pounding missions.

"Capcom Mobile is honored to be bringing the next exciting chapter of the Resident Evil series to cell phones everywhere,” said Midori Yuasa, president, Capcom Interactive, Inc. "Mobile is the only place where fans can play Resident Evil: Degeneration and experience this thrilling story from a unique adrenaline-fueled perspective.”

Resident Evil: Degeneration for mobile will be available on most carriers in the UK and North America by the end of the year.

The Resident Evil: Degeneration movie arrives in North America on Blu-ray High-Def, DVD and PSP December 27, 2008 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Resident Evil: Degeneration is a spectacular thrill-ride that takes the terrifying zombie action of the blockbuster Resident Evil franchise to a whole new level with jaw-dropping visual effects and heart-pounding suspense. Seven years after the Raccoon City incident, a horde of zombies is unleashed at a major US airport. Fan favorites Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy quickly arrive on the scene to combat the zombie rampage in classic, high octane Resident Evil style. The DVD and Blu-ray Disc are equipped with an arsenal of exciting special features, including a preview of the Resident Evil 5 video game, the official "The Generation Of Degeneration” featurette, character profiles, voice bloopers, a trailer collection, and a special faux-interview with the character "Leon.” Exclusive to the Blu-ray Disc is a groundbreaking Interactive Picture-in-Picture (I-PIP), which gives viewers real-time access to multiple picture-in-picture streams: flip through feature-length animatics, motion capture and storyboard channels as they run concurrent to the movie. Also exclusive to the Blu-ray Disc is a trivia track as well as access to the BD Live network, where viewers are given access to exclusive downloads and content. Fans won't want to miss the excitement when Resident Evil: Degeneration arrives this December 27th!
