Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Elite content available for PS3 starting February 28th

PlayStation 3 users will get their first taste of the Modern Warfare 3 Elite content drops at the end of this month.  Activision has announced that the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3's Content Season for Call of Duty Elite will kick off for Premium Members on the PlayStation Network February 28th, bringing the first two content drops – Liberation and Piazza maps.

Liberation is a militarized Central Park in the heart of NYC, featuring a vast landscape ripe for long-range sniper and LMG kills. Mounted turrets on opposing ends of the map offer overwhelming firepower to anyone brave enough to man them.

Piazza is set in an idyllic seaside village, Italian getaway gone rogue, where blind corners and a complex network of branching pathways pose danger at every turn. Visceral close-quarters combat dominates in Piazza, and attacks from above and below are an ever-constant threat.

Activision followed a similar release pattern on the Xbox 360 last month when those with a paid subscription to Call of Duty: Elite got first access to the new maps.  Activision did not mention when the maps will be made available to all PS3 users, but they did say the first "content collection" will arrive sometime after its Xbox 360 debut in March.

Earlier, Activision released a full Modern Warfare 3 content calendar to help players keep track of upcoming DLC drops.
