Black Ops 2 in the works? Activision registers domain name
If Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 taught us anything, it's that Activision is perfectly fine with the status quo. The Call of Duty franchise is everything they need it to be - a solid, well known product that results in successful sales numbers. And if domain name registrations are any indication, Activision doesn't plan on reinventing the wheel, or series, with this year's Call of Duty title.
Activision has already stated there would be another Call of Duty game this year, and continuing with the trade-off means it's Treyarch's turn. So what fresh idea do they seem to be working on?
It appears to be Black Ops 2 - at least if you go by the recently registered domain names. Activision has secretly acquired the domain name "blackops2.com".
Fusible has noted that the domain blackops2.com has switched to the privacy service provided by MarkMonitor. For those unfamiliar, they are an internet brand protection company. And yes, Activision is a client of them.
No official word has been said of this apparent Black Ops 2, but with Activision owning the domain names all the way up to 6, and then recently acquiring this one, it looks all but certain that this is the one Treyarch will be working on.
