Be Excited: Bit.Trip Runner 2 Is a Thing
Developer Gaijin Games is working on a follow-up to Bit.Trip Runner. In all honesty, the previous sentence is all you really need to know, so if you stop reading my lovely post now and go into an ecstatic frenzy, I really won't blame you. Of course, if you want to know a little more about the development of the game, you might as well stick around and continue reading.
So for those of you who are still here, you'll be glad to know that there's a dev blog for the upcoming Runner 2. In it you'll find concept art, progress posts, and videos with the Bit.Trip guys doing their thing. If you're a fan of the series and want to keep tabs on how Runner 2 is coming along, I'd highly suggest you frequent the blog every once in a while.
As indicated by some concept shots, the game will feature a new art style which looks to be a promising departure for the series. Though I loved the art style of previous Bit.Trip games, I really dig the direction Gaijin is going in with Runner 2. Everything appears to be more solid, more animated, and less polygonal. It's a potentially awesome art style, and it's certainly fitting to help distinguish the game as a sequel.
We'll be keeping a close eye on the development of Runner 2. Gaijin is sure to reveal more information down the road, and we're really looking forward to learning more about the game. CommanderVideo, it's good to have you back!
