Battlefield 3 has 1.25 Million Pre-Orders, Plans to Take Advantage of Head Start on Modern Warfare 3

Just how big is Battlefield 3 going to be? No one knows for sure, but as of right now Battlefield 3 has been pre-ordered 1.25 million times, which is certainly above all expectation. EA CFO Eric Brown revealed the numbers during a Citi Tech Conference.

Brown also said that EA has a head start on Modern Warfare 3, something they plan on taking advantage of. Brown said:

“We have the advantage of a two-and-a-half week early launch window versus our competitor, and we intend to use that.”

Brown also revealed that the marketing campaign for Battlefield 3 is larger than the one for highly anticipated MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic.

These latest numbers are definitely higher than expected, and I'm sure Activision must be getting a little worried now.
