Battlefield 3 Adding In-Game Squad Management

Many gamers were skeptical when squad management was moved to Battlelog, the new social hub created specifically for Battlefield 3.  Moving squad management to Battlelog meant forcing players to switch between the game and the Battlelog page in order to manage squads, a task that many Battlefield 3 predicted would be tedious and annoying.

After playtesting Battlefield 3 Open Beta, many still found the squad management to be unacceptable.  Well, DICE has listened to fans, and as a result decided to add squad management to the actual in-game menu of Battlefield 3.

DICE's Barrie Tingle posted on the Battlelog forums, revealing that squad management will be available in-game in Battlefield 3.  Tingle wrote, "In short answer form, yes you can browse and join squads through the squad screen and make private squads."

Unfortunately, player's will not be able to utilize this new feature, as in-game squad management won't be updated into the beta.  DICE did assure it would be available int he final game, however.

What are your thoughts on Battlefield 3 Open Beta?  Was it what you were hoping for?
