Back to Karkand: PC Users Experiencing "Missing Content", Fix on the Way

Today, DICE released the Battlefield 3 Back to Karkand expansion for Xbox 360 and PC.  While no major issues for the Xbox 360 version have been reported, it looks like PC users have hit a snag.

PC gamers are flooding the Battlefield forums with reports of an error message that pops up due to the Back to Karkand expansion.  The error disconnects them from the game and reads: "Game Disconnected: you are missing content from the game."

DICE has updated users on the situation.  Just a few hours ago, Global Battlefield Communit Manager Daniel Matros updated fans, "We´ve located the issue with "game content not available" for Karkand users. Will roll out a fix in the next couple of hours!"

Aside from the estimated time frame of "a couple of hours", no other information has been released.  PC Games has offered some tips and advice for a potential short-term fix while DICE continues to work on the problem.

As the first expansion for Battlefield 3, Back to Karkand contains four classic Battlefield maps remastered using the Frostbite 2 engine.  Back to Karkand also features 10 new weapons, three classic vehicles from Battlefield 2, and all-new Assignments you need to complete to unlock new weapons.

If you are a Limited Edition owner of Battlefield 3, you can get the entire expansion pack for free.  If not, you can purchase it for PC on Origin for $14.99, or for Xbox 360 from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace or in-game store for 1200 Microsoft Points.
