APB Bought By K2 Network?

APB: All Points Bulletin, the game with the dubious distinction of being the shortest-lived MMO ever, might be getting a second chance, according to a report by GamesIndustry.biz.

Anonymous sources tell them that K2 Network, the company behind free-to-play service GamersFirst, has bought the IP from former developer Realtime Worlds. The selling price is rumored to be around £1.5 million ($2.4 million).

An official announcement is expected to be made in the coming week.

GamesIndustry.biz speculates that if APB does make a comeback, it will be as a free-to-play game, which would make sense, as K2 Network is also the publisher of other free-to-play titles such as War Rock and 9 Dragons.
