Anderson to Direct Next Resident Evil Movie

I hope Resident Evil fans are ready for some disappointing news. Paul WS Anderson will be returning to direct the next Resident Evil movie. Anderson, who wrote and produced all four Resident Evil film and directed the first and fourth film in the franchise told MCV, "I will be directing and we start shooting in nine weeks."

The films, which at this point are very loosely based on the game franchise, have done well in theaters, but hardcore Resident Evil enthusiasts have been less than pleased with the direction the films have taken.

"I am the biggest fan of Resident Evil. It is a glorious game franchise, it has been a really great movie franchise. And I am happy to have been involved in the world of Resident, since the start of playing the game until now, 12 or 13 years. It has been a great trip so far and the journey continues."

The next installment to the series will once again star Milla Jovovich in the lead role as Alice. Is anyone else sick of seeing her do the same thing in all the movies? I'd like to think that the biggest fan of Resident Evil would've stayed more true to the games. Oh well, the film is due on September 14, 2012.
