Aliens: Colonial Marines gets Season Pass, ‘Bug Hunt’ DLC revealed

Surprise! Aliens: Colonial Marines will offer a season pass for its host of impending downloadable content. Actually, it's not much of a surprise anymore as practically every game released these days have some sort of DLC and season pass attached to it.

Anyways, the Season Pass will be available for $29.99 (2400 Microsoft Points) on PS3, Xbox 360, and Steam. It will give access to all four upcoming DLC packs which feature new campaigns as well as multiplayer content. By purchasing the Season Pass you'll save almost 40% then if you were to buy each individual pack separately.

Although SEGA and Gearbox will announce further details on the content and release dates, they did today reveal the game's first post-launch DLC, titled Bug Hunt. Scheduled for March 2013, Bug Hunt will "throw players into an all-new multiplayer mode where they have to take on waves of increasingly difficult enemies in three brand new maps based on environments from the Aliens film."

Aliens: Colonial Marines is the spiritual sequel to the popular Aliens film (pretend the third and fourth films were never made). The game sees your return to LV-426 search of Ellen Ripley, Corporal Dwayne Hicks, and the rest of the missing marines. There's also an expansive multiplayer mode with four different modes (Escape, Survivor, Team Deathmatch, and Extermination).

Aliens: Colonial Marines is due out for PS3, Xbox 360, and PS3 on February 12, 2013. A Wii U release date will be announced at a later time. Meanwhile, be on the lookout for our review early next week.
